Barntäcke med Spiral Mönster

Här syns barntäcket sytt med spiral mönstret. Sprätthöns syr toppen. Jag ställer upp med kviltningen. Jag provar gärna nya mönstrar på dem. Sedan får de som har sytt kvilten syr färdig bindningen och slutligen skickas de till barnhem i Truskavetsk, Ukraine. Jag efterlyser fler okviltade barntäcke som jag kan kvilta och kan skänkas till barnhemmet.

Här ser ni ytterliga ett nytt mönster som jag har ritat. Har redan provat den på två barn täcke o nu denna jelly roll kvilt idag. Mjuka rundningar som skulle även ursäktar om kvilten skulle råka var lite "bubblig".

Finally a new up-dating of my blog

If you read the last post about Stockholm's Sewing Festival, it would be even appropriate for today's update! Have just come home from Stockholm and had another wonderful time helping Bengt and Catharina from Tyger&Ting.

 I've finally got my patterns out as a slow slide show. Most of the time, quilters let me decide on what fits theír quilt best, unless of course, they've seen one of my patterns on a friend's quilt and want the same for their's. I try to find a pattern that fits the quilt and batting. I also have loads of thread to choose from, many verigated (mixed colors). If I'm unsure, I call or send a mail. With an Iphone, it makes it so easy to communicate!

Stockholm's Sewing Festival

Have finally landed after 4 days in Stockholm. Worked with Bengt and Catharina Svenningsson's booth, Tyger &Ting. Alot of time and effort goes into the planning and setting up of their booth and it is always the best! That makes it so much fun to help them. I love  meeting all the people--about 12.000 and being able to help them in their choices of everything beautiful to buy. My biggest problem is that I would really like to buy and sew up EVERYTHING, well, almost everything that they sell.
But, I have other things that await me here at home. I am getting tops that need my longarm quilting from all over Sweden, some old, some new. It makes it very fun and interesting for me.

Öresund Competition--"Sexy and Attractive "(Fräckt o Läckert)

In this competition, we received a FQ of the floral fabric, 3 buttons, a green string and several glass beads to make a quilt any where between 40-100cm. The first thing, both Kjell and I thought of, was sexy underclothes. It was more elegant to make a corset than a 2-piece outfit, and wanting to make it more unusual,  I added the angel wings. I called it "Angel Support size 36D---Made in Heaven".

I received third prize and also the People's Choice Award!

 Here are a few of the 3-D flowers I made. Was great fun, but took an awful lot of time, thinking, planning, sewing and quilting and beading.This will definitely not be my last competition! I'm hooked!

Competition Quilt from Quiltköping (Lidköping)

This is my first competition from Lidköping, Sept.2010. You bought a little bag with 5 FQ of striped fabrics--very different, very frustrating. I spent several uninspiring days looking at them and even bought my 6th fabric, green, which did not get me going.......After coming home from the States, I really wanted to get started on a table cloth and had read all the directions, had the fabric all laid out to go, but told myself that I had to do the competition

quilt before I could have fun with my new fabrics. Low and behold, one of the new fabrics lay beside my competition stripes and WOW! everything fell into place. I worked until late night and surprised myself with a quiet, traditional, beautiful quilt--which did take about a week to complete. I was very, very delighted to get third place out of 77 quilts.
